What is a Crystal Grid?
Crystal energy can support manifestation, releasing and healing, assisting us to bring our hopes and dreams into our reality. Sometimes, one individual crystal can provide the exact energy we need. Other times, particularly if our needs are complex, several crystals are needed. This is where a crystal grid comes in. A crystal grid is an arrangement of crystals into patterns that use sacred geometry to activate and amplify individual crystals for an intended purpose. The sacred geometry enables the crystals to work together, amplifying the energies of the crystals so that the energy of a grid is greater than the sum of the individual crystal energies.
Before setting up your grid, it’s essential to get yourself into a calm, peaceful state and energetically cleanse your work space. Crystals pick up all types of energies very easily so we don’t want to inadvertently add any lower energies which will hinder the process. It’s also important to cleanse, charge and programme any crystals you plan to work with. For a crystal grid, we programme each crystal to work with other crystals for the intended purpose or outcome of the crystal grid. We will get to the intention later.
Bigger isn’t always better
A crystal grid can be as simple or as complicated as you like. However, bigger isn’t always better. In fact, when working with crystals, the more simple and uncluttered it is, the more effective it can be. Adding too many crystals for different aspects can make your intention become confused. This will result in poorer outcomes. It’s important to note, crystals are not magic bullets that will make things happen without any involvement from you. You can set up as many crystal grids as you like, but if you are not actively involved in the process, you will not succeed in your goal.
How do Crystal Grids Work?
Intention is EVERYTHING!
Crystal energy works through intention. It’s important that the intention is clear and stated as though whatever you wish to manifest, release or heal has already happened or been provided e.g. “I am so financially abundant I can afford to live the life of my dreams”. Or “I have released my limiting beliefs and am living the life of my dreams.” Or “I am whole, healed and complete”. Rather than hoping or wishing, we are trusting that it will happen, and are aligning ourselves with the future where it is already happening. This is how your crystals and the universe, and you, know exactly what your intention is.
Our thoughts and words carry different frequencies, and stating our intentions as a ‘done deal’ carries a much higher frequency than a hope or wish which is coming from a place of lack. The higher the frequency, the closer we are to the divine light of our own soul, and that of our guides and Source, which increases our manifesting power.
When you have decided on a clear and thoughtfully worded intention, write it down on a small piece of paper that you can fold and place onto the crystal grid.
Setting up a Crystal Grid
Choosing your Surface
Crystal grids can be set up on a variety of surfaces. However, if you plan to move your grid after set up, you are best to use a solid surface, such as the wooden boards in the images below. I prefer to use natural materials (wood, cotton, linen etc) as they, like the crystals, came from Mother Earth and carry a grounding energy that helps the crystals work together and enhances the flow of the crystals’ subtle energy. I’ve found that sacred geometry also adds to the power of the crystals, and using Metatron’s Cube invokes the assistance of the Archangel.
These boards can be purchased relatively inexpensively. However, you can also print different sacred geometry shapes onto paper or use cloth with the shapes printed on them. If using paper or cloth, you’ll need to set up the crystal grid on top of a flat, solid, moveable surface (e.g. a dinner plate) or wherever you plan to leave it set up as they cannot be easily moved. Whichever surface you choose, make sure it, and your work area are clean before you start.
Choosing your Crystals
The crystals that you choose for your grid are dependent on their metaphysical properties as well as your intention/purpose. It will also be very much dependent on the crystals that you have. Metaphysical properties are helpful but I have found that intention far outweighs the metaphysical properties of any crystal. For example, citrine, amethyst, jade, pyrite and green aventurine all have metaphysical properties that can help to improve abundance. However, if you don’t have any of these crystals, you can programme any crystal to help improve abundance. Clear quartz is particularly programmable. It may not be quite as effective as those with that metaphysical property but it will still work.
Crystals have a consciousness and as such can choose to work with you in any way you wish. I received this information from my High Self during a QHHT session and they’ve never let me down yet so can be trusted.
You also need to choose a crystal for the centre of your grid, ideally but not necessarily a crystal tower. This crystal is known as the activator or generator. It connects all the crystals in the grid and channels their energy together, amplifying it before sending it wherever it needs to go for your intended purpose. Clear quartz, the “Master healer” is an ideal activator crystal as it amplifies the energy of other crystals, promotes clarity and focus, and symbolises power.
Clashing Energies
Some crystals don’t resonate well together, their energies can clash rather than working together. You’ll find information on the internet about crystals that you should avoid using together, but that may be so for the author only. We each bring our own unique vibration to a crystal grid so it’s much better to find how different combinations work with you. This information may come to you intuitively or as a sense of knowing. Or you may be able to sense it physically.
Try holding a crystal in each hand, then bring the crystals together slowly, sensing any feelings or information you receive. Again, it’s important to cleanse and charge the crystals beforehand so that you are getting a true reflection of the crystal energy. For me, when I hold crystals that work well together, the energy feels smooth and inviting. When the crystals don’t work well together, the energy feels jagged and off-putting. I personally avoid placing those crystals together in the same grid.
Crystal Placement
So, you have written out a clear intention; have chosen your surface, with or without a sacred geometry symbol; have chosen the crystals you are going to work with, including an activator crystal; have centred yourself and cleansed and cleared your work area; and cleansed, charged and programmed your crystals. You are now ready to place your crystals onto your crystal grid.
Below are some examples of grids that use sacred geometry symbols for placement. You can also place the crystals in a spiral formation into the activator, similar to the last image. The patterns you make are entirely up to you, be led by your intuition (your first thought) and inner knowing. When using crystal points, use your intuition to decide which direction to place the pointed end. I usually place the points towards the activator when I am bringing something into my life and away from the activator when I am releasing or moving something.
When you are set, read your intention again, fold the piece of paper and place it under your activator crystal.
Connect Your Crystals and Activate Your Crystal Grid
Now it’s time to connect and activate your crystals. You can do this using your finger or a crystal wand. You can also say an incantation or invocation at this point, if it’s appropriate. When working with crystals, I personally connect with the Angelic realms and seek assistance from Archangels and my cosmic healing guides, depending on the intention so I will say an invocation along the lines of this as I touch each crystal, connecting them:

“Thank you angels for providing your divine light, guidance and protection as I work with these crystals for this specific intention. Thank you for blessing this grid with your sacred presence, guiding the flow of energy through each crystal, anchoring it gently into the earth and raising it to higher dimensions, and ensuring that it becomes a vessel for healing, clarity, protection, and divine intention. And thank you crystals for supporting me to connect and align with my best and highest purpose, helping me bring this intention into reality. And so it is.”
Focus meditatively on the intention and the crystals for several minutes, visualising or imagining the outcome of your intention as already happening. Sense how that feels in your body. It’s important that you really feel the emotion attached to the experience so that you align vibrationally with what you want to manifest. Without the matching resonance, manifesting is very difficult, if not impossible. Slowly and meditatively touch each of the crystals starting with the activator while continuing to visualise or imagine what it is going to look and feel like when your intention becomes reality.
If you want to bring something into fruition, move around the grid in a clockwise direction. If your intention is to banish or remove something from your life, move in an anticlockwise direction. I like to go around twice, the first time connecting all the crystals together and the second time connecting the activator to each of the crystals individually.
Your Crystal Grid is Now Active
Your crystal grid is now active and helping you to bring your intention into reality. For best results, leave the grid set up for at least 24 hours. Depending on the intention and purpose it can be left for longer periods. For example when I set up a New Moon or Full Moon grid I leave it set up for 2 weeks. And there’s nothing to stop you making one a permanent feature. When leaving a grid for longer periods, you need to reactivate it every 3 days by connecting the crystals again while visualising your intention having been made reality. This helps to keep everything fresh in your mind too. Remember that you need to participate in the process,
Now simply be open to allowing it all to unfold without trying to control how it happens. Trust and have faith that it will. ✨💫
